Roger Carlyle was obsessed with her. Erica Carlyle blames her for everything. Erica believes Roger met her in Harlem (she looked like she was from Africa).

Roger referred to her as his queen / priestess. He said she had secrets that only he had to know.

Edward Gavigan feels that Roger Carlyle was scammed by an African woman about a dark time in Egyptian history when a sorcerer ruled the Nile valley. The Penhew Foundation believes that woman absconded with the expedition's funds.

Jack Brady tells the investigators in a conversation on April 22, 1925 that her real name is M'Weru, but she also went by Anastasia. He believes she has power, real power. She's an African woman from Kenya. She left the Carlyle Expedition once they arrived in Cairo. Brady notes that she was a "... princess or whatever she was supposed to be..."

in Cuncudgerie he claims that she was the priestess of God of the Bloody Tongue and introduced the entirety of the Carlyle Expedition to the worship of Nyarlathotep
