A rich family of some renown in the world.

Shortly after Roger declared dead, thieves attempted to break into Carlyle estate.

  • Erica Carlyle - Last Known Location: New York / Sister to Robert. Went to Africa to find after expedition/her brother's death. Returned empty handed.

  • Roger Carlyle - Last known location: Kenya Assumed deceased after word of the massacre got out

Cause of Death: Presumed dead as part of the Carlyle Expedition massacre. (but escaped due to Jack Brady - and last seen in Hong Kong)

Born in 1895. Brother to Erica. Known womanizer & head of Carlyle Expedition exploring Africa for King Solomon's Mines. Apparently suffered sunstroke recent to July 3, 1919. Psychiatric Doctor: Dr. Robert Huston / Threw enormous party at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel upon reaching his majority. Known for scandals and indelicate behavior.

Roger Vane Worthington Carlyle - dissolute playboy - favorite topic of NY gossip columns. Checkered academic record - Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Myskatonic, Cornell, USC, finally graduated from Groton with Business degree. Some say pulled together after parents death in auto accident. Others speculate that it was Erica behind the scenes who had the real business sense. Mentioned associating with Jack Brady.

Roger Carlyle Asylum Visit

Turns out that Roger was less dead than originally thought. Jack Brady got him away from the rest of the Carlyle Expedition and stashed him in the Yeung Wo Nursing Home in Hong Kong. The nurses taking care of him say that he is paranoid and asks for passwords, but often gives them out himself. He talks about Anastasia, Nyarlathotep (or just Hotep), the Red Pyramid (or Bent Pyramid), opening the door, the eye watching him, Erica Carlyle, and mentions the other members of the Carlyle Expedition. No one but the party and Jack have visited him since he was first admitted.
