No police record; no military service.

The youngest of three sons, his father was a Chicago M.D.

Robert Huston graduated with honors from Johns Hopkins. After three years he threw over his circulatory-ailments practice (and his wife), and went to Vienna to study first under Freud and then under Jung. Huston was among the first Americans to undertake this esoteric and controversial study of the mind, which dealt so much with sexual behavior that no respectable person could talk about it. He returned to New York City. There he established a practice in psychoanalysis catering to the very wealthy.

Huston enjoyed fame and notoriety. His fees were whispered to be $50-$60 dollars per visit, this at a time when a college professor might make $4000 a year. Among his patients were Roger Carlyle, and his sealed medical records were stolen from the Medical Board office in New York.

Part of the Carlyle Expedition.

Psychiatric notes on Rodger Carlyle indicate that he was compelled to accompany Carlyle Expedition. Carlyle threatened to expose something that Huston didn't want exposed.

Jack Falcon

Received Carlyle's medical records from Dr. Huston. Records start January 11, 1918 and go through to September 8, 1918. (Please note that entries after August 3, 1918 appear to be directly from Dr. Huston w/o secretary stenography. There is also an undated addendum at the end of the records.)

It looks like the good doctor was having an illicit dalliance with an "I.B." from a wealthy family. I.B. appears to have had some knowledge about Dr. Huston's work with Mr. Roger Carlyle from the start. Quickly after taking Carlyle on as a patient Dr. Huston started socializing within Carlyle's 'inner circle', first to gain insight into his patient's state of mind, but also to gather new clients.
