Event:1925/06/22 Day in Cairo

Arrive at the Cairo Bulletin and ask to speak with Nigel Wassif, the owner, editor, and reporter for the paper.

He remembers Jackson Elias, but has no real information, though he seems to be holding something back and spends the entire time talking around things using facts about the newspaper and happenings.

Cillian and Victor speak with Nigel about Jackson and the Cult of the Bloody Tongue. Unfortunately they get no extra information. Cillian pushes things in his most charming priestly manner but nothing was particularly forthcoming.

Gunter and Charles examine the back catalog, and find plenty of articles that support what they already know about what's going on in Cairo. Also they find a picture of part of the Carlyle Expedition - Roger Carlyle, Hypatia Masters, and Jack Brady - arriving in Egypt - Nigel Wassif is noted as the reporter of record. There is also a note that Ms. Masters took ill and ended the festivities after the arrival.

When Gunter and Charles return they ask about the photo, and Nigel says that Dr. Alli Kafour at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo was one of the Expedition's local contacts. Nigel says he only interacted with the Expedition enough to get the photo and found them to be dreadfully horrible people who were extremely standoffish. Gunter then asks about cats and Nigel does mention that he has notified been an explosion of cats lately, and they are often associated with an ancient Egyptian deity known as Bast. He says we could talk Dr. Alli Kafour about the cats as well, as he is likely to know more.

Nigel says the Clive Expedition is clearly the biggest game in town right now. They are involved in digs on the outskirts of Cairo and at the Bent Pyramid and he contemptuously mentions that the Clive Expedition has hired a medium. He thinks her name is Agatha something, but he is definitely sure that her name is NOT Anastasia.

Next we all head to the Egyptian Museum of Cairo to speak with Dr. Alli Kafour. He tells us that the Carlyle Expedition uncovered a secret pertaining to the Black Pharaoh which lead to their slaughter in Kenya. He then proceeds to give a mini-lecture on the Black Pharaoh.

End of the 3rd dynasty a man called Nephren-ka came to Egypt. He was a powerful sorcerer. it was said that he could bring madness or death to his enemies with a flick of his finger. According to legend, Nephren-ka was either the Black Pharaoh or was the head priest of the Black Pharaoh and his symbol was the inverted ankh. The Black Pharaoh and/or Nephren-ka ruled Egypt for several dynasties. Said to possess a huge beast similar to the sphinx near the Giza. His voice was called a Black Wind that went through the lands destroying everything in it's path. It is said that there are still inhumane cults that worship the the Black Pharaoh today. The cults are also rumored to be involved with the worship of a beautiful but evil Queen known as Nitocris
