How does the Amber Diceless RPG Guide define it?

Shadow is all that lies between Amber and Chaos. Shadow is like multitudes of worlds, but none are as "real" as Amber itself. Places of fantasy, science fiction, or even those like Earth could exist in Shadow. Amberites can walk to any shadow they imagine.
