Phlan - on the street in the market, we see a man fix a parchment to a sign post before striding away.

Saraonge goes over and pulls the notice off - Wanted for Thievery most Cunning - caracature of young human with beady eyes name spernik

Charges: Theft, breaching the peace, and abeting the enimies of Phlan

Reward is promised from the Lord Sage of Phalan (Mantor's Library is a place he is often seen). Located in Scholar's square

Laughing Goblin (Inn), Cracked Crown (Inn), Samantha's Teakettle (Inn), Nat Wyler's Bell (tavern/inn), The Bitter Blade (inn), The Velvet Doublet (FestHall), Cockburn's Grocery, Matteo the Weapons Smith, Earnest Livery, and Gerome of Malvunt (Fence).

In Mantor's library we find an older half elf who approaches us and tells that the library is closing, we tell him that we are The Grey Legion and he says has heard of some of exploits. He introduces himself as the Lord Sage and offers to show us to his study. 2 Days ago Spernik and Tibeen were caught sneaking out of the Lord Sage's office. Other librarians questioned them, but they fled and the Black Fist was summoned. Tibeen was caught after he stopped to fight back. He was caputured but not before he slew one of the guard. He is in custody but won't speak to anyone. Spernik is still on the lam.

They have been employed for about 4 months, they were skilled, but unexceptional. Found two rare books in their rooms in , but when they returned them to the shelves there were forgeries in their place that contained subtle inaccuracies.

First book: History of the North - Chapter referencing the Circle of Scale: a cult of druids attempting to enslave dragons was removed Second Book: Lex Geographica - Chapter referring to Circle of Standing stones located in DragonSpine Mountains where a group of druids that worshiped dragons once lived was removed

But there is a missing haversack from their room and it is assumed that Spernik has that with him

prepared to offer 50g total for the return of the thief. Additional 100g for any books or tomes from library with this sigil.

We can get into their rooms, or where they worked, or speak with Tibeen at the Stojanow Gate (speak with Night Lieutenant Bolver)

The Lord Sage takes us to to Scribes hall to speak with their colleagues.

Pillar folding Compass - found in Tibeen's desk: tool used for cartography and finding places on a map

New books came and we needed more scribes - they were very private - only talked to each other - both rarely ate here at the library - they took their meals at an inn - the Laughing Goblin.

Directs us to their sleeping areas. - small room. Desk has papers detailing supplies needed for a long journey

Dresser has false panel - cloth with 2 sets of black and purple clothing emblazoned with livery of low ranking members of Cult of the Dragon

We head to the Stojanow Gate and stand in line. After speaking with Night Lieutenant Bolvar we find that Tibeen has been killed. We ask to look through the Haversack. They saw a man fitting Spernik's description heading North towards the Dragonspine Mountains.

Durnim Goblinkicker - Imizel - human woman, Fat Mar

Tibeen and Spernik forgot to pay their tab at the Laughing Goblin. - they were sometimes accompanied by a human male/scribe, never got his name (we recognize his description as the third person who was here in the Laughing Goblin before the bar fight broke out)

Next morning head to Cockburn's Grocery and find out there have been unusual orders - Waterproof Scroll Case, Vellium, Chalk Dust and the guy that came to pick them up left a note book.

The Notebook: has a crude map. Points to the foothills of the Dragonspine mountains about 2 days away.

We purchase gear for the trip.

The Circle was led Skovac a ScaleBinder who claimed that he could subvert the will of dragons using his voice and a powerful artifact - a scale of Tiamat herself. The Circle of Scale created a complex deep within the Dragonspine Mountains to attract and enslave dragons.

Red Dragon - Scorlworyx - the Scorching Wind - attacked the Temple of Scale and destroyed the complex. Skovak and the Scale of Timat was never seen again.

Following the map we end up at a large clearing in the foothills of the Dragonspine Mountains.
