Secrets of Sokol Keep

The Laughing Goblin because the Teakettle is out of daughters.

old Tavern that has seen better days

dont' sit on the 2nd floor

Fat Mar - introduces himself and we order dinner.

Something happened at Sokol Keep - merchant compound

Beacon went out and no one knows why

House Sokol is a new house in Phlan and owns the keep and use it to levy taxes on boats coming in

Also the Blackfists are there as Hired Guards.

Imizel will be over with drinks and she brings drinks and gossip

There is a spirit/ghost ship that has been seen around the keep full of pirates

dockworkers came up to us and to the blackfists

Blackfists started some shit yo

But I totally calm them down with my persuasive presense

Talk to Lyliah - House Sokal's admin with an office down by the docks

Hear that the keep is haunted by clerics who died 1001 years ago at a temple of Torm or Tyr that used to be on the island.

Shadow goes up to Blackfist and asks stuff The Blackfist are hired by Sokal to GUARD the location Sargent Grim is the man assigned to the Keep

Igan Sokal - lives on the island

Guard Sargent Herne at the docks would know more about what is going on out on the island

Gathering people to respond to attacks up and down the coast.

We finish our food and drinks as a patrol of Blackfist come in and decide it's better to be elsehwere. We head back to the Teakettle to sleep for the night

Ventaster is very drunk.

We head to the docks the next day.

Tell Karst that Herne says it's ok to cross on the Ferry and when we find out stuff we tell him and he pays us. Guard Sargent Grim is in charge over on the island with 6 other Blackfist Guards. We should look for him when we get there.

We then head to House Sokal's admin office and look for Lyliah - human female.

Igan Sokol the young scion of the house at the Keep with 2 care takers - Shandra and Dorvag

Go talk to Karst, the Ferry person. Convince him that it's only one gold to cross instead of 1 per person

He spoke to Shandra, Dorvag, and Roaran (kid that helps around the island) and says they should be just fine, but he'll take us over anyway.

We arrive at dilapated docks

he drops us off and says he'll be back in 3 days.

We head up to the keep

Darvag greets us and tells us about Shandra (wife) and Roaran (kid) and takes us inside.

Both Igan and Sargent Grim have been missing since the night the light went out

Darvag is super NOOOT worried about it.

Blackfists quartered in Lighthouse and responsible for keeping magical lighthouse in operation

Lord Igan should know how to reactivate it.

Shandra meets up with us.

Tells us this used to be the family seat, but several wings are blocked off because no one lives here any more. Got tired of treasure seekers looking for treasure. And ever since the city paid for the lighthouse they set up guards and no one comes looking for treasure any more. BECAUSE THEY MIGHT DIE SWIMMING ACROSS.

Shandra gives a key that works on the doors and lets us know that any sections with lit candles / oil lamps are the maintained areas

The servant family doesn't want to enter the East Tower and the Lighthouse any more because strange things happen around those places.

Those strange things started happening when Igan disppeared.

We head to his quarters in the main part of the manor house on the 2nd floor with Roaran leading us. He talks about the spirit that keeps him away from the East Tower and the Lighthouse and that he thinks it is a she.

Igan's suite is deserted. WE find an office with a desk, a bookcase, and a sofa with an ancient book and the artwork.

bookcase - has lots of random books about history, law, and so on. Shadow finds a book with a tarnished holy symbol of Tyr hidden inside it along with 5 platinum pieces.

sofa - Moon Sea Cults - Thalioss of Tyr is completely unreadable, also another book called Common Curses and how to Counteract them. I use comprehend languages to read the ancient deritive of Common known as Thorass that the Moon Sea Cults is written in - The book details ancient cults and their religious practices including pictures. Most of the cults are those that worship demons, powerful spirits, or cults of personalithy so not particularly nice.

desk - poetry and sketches. in the drawers are more sketching implments, and 3rd drawer has sketch of a temple of Tyr - god of justice and war

All the artwork has something to do with religion - specfically Tyr.

We lock up the suite and head to the west tower.

The upper floors are very dusty and cobwebby and look as no one has been there so we head to the basement.

Someone has stripped up the floor and dug down to the dirt in the basement.

glyphs on slab are very worn and can't be read so it is unclear what ritual it could be used for.

Ventaster puts his hand in the indentation and gets shocked with lightening.

We give up on opening it and head to the East tower

We find thick layers of dust in the area that they are using to store furniature.

Shadow notices that some of the furniture has moved in the past, and we move it again to reveal boarded over door with loose planks at the bottom

Going through we end up in a shrine of Tyr - one handed old man with scales and a sword.

more books on law, history, and philosophy that have to do with Thorn Island.

The book on the desk is a collection of thoughts and notes that will take some time to decipher

After lighting candles at the shrine to Tyr, they relight every time we attempt to snuff them

Head to the lighthouse. Find an empty guard common area.

up stairs is the small bunk area.

Inside the Sargent's room find notes about all of Sargent's get-rich-quick schemes

We head upstairs to the room with the unlit beacon

Roaran calls us into dinner.

The family is freaked out because no one is here but they have to just keep going.

AFter dinner we work on the notes/book/journal and Igan starts looking for Temple of Tyr and treasure on a whim.

A book about Tyr fell into Igan's lap and that kinda started htings. They ramped into high gear when he met Sargent Grim and it became a major search for treasure.

The end of the journal directs us to page 78 in the Moonsea Cults. that page talks about an Entititie: Just One and the Great One

dipcites cults symbols and praryers of their worshiop.

Also has password into the crypt.

We go there next and speak the password. This opens the door and we climb down into the dark.

Shadow finds a fan in a niche behind some bones and opens it up to see a sleeping cat on it.

We come upon some suits of armor covered in coral. They have been here FOREVER, longer than any recent histories.

They come to life when we pass through and we break them up. Next is a room with a dangerous and slippery pit that we skirt

There is a large room with a statue of a tenatcled creature that glows a sickly green. It smells of brackish water, rot, and blood. There is a body

Altar and shrine to Dagon - Lord of the Depth and a Demon Lord.

We find that at least one of the Blackfist and Igon are zombies.

pick up his magic stick (of magic detection) and 35g

Discover Sargent Grim in the next room with 4 of his Blackfist guards.

While they can't see we break up the jade idol into 3 pieces worth 50g each.

Grim gives up and we plan to take him and his men to the surface.

On the way a female manifests and looks like a priestess of Tyr and she points at Igon and Grim and we promise to make him face justice

He is killed after the trial, and the other 5 people are imprisoned.

50g holy symbol 50g platnium, 20g book, 20g bunk, 35g coin purse, idol 150g, 100g armor

1 renown point

10 downtime days

425g = 141 each 2g left over
