Adventure: The Lost Child

Written as an introductory adventure for not only the PCs into my campaign world, but as a bit of a mystery quest, that also provided foreshadowing of other world-shaking events working in the background.
Introduction
The PCs have entered the thriving City of Holden, located at the fork in the Rov River, receiving merchant goods from the Northern and Southern branches of the river and sending them down the Rov towards Tikel on the coast. It also receives goods from Tikel and other locations.
A rich textile merchant through intermediaries contacts the PCs in need of assistance one early morning. His daughter, Tabitha has come up missing and it appears that something kidnapped her the previous evening and he is willing to pay well to find his daughter alive.
The Estate
A large estate outside of the city, walled in with evidence of guards/dogs on regular patrol can be seen. It is obvious that construction is still going on a 'new' house/mansion while a few smaller houses located in the back of the walled area are obviously a lot older/decrepit. Inspecting the abandoned barn area will prevoke an attack from a few Giant Bats.<
> The room is nicely appointed, the girl is pre-teen, so a number of stuffed toys, etc. can be seen in the room, it appears to be a 'healthy space'. There are a few troubling signs: scratch marks on the windowsill as well as muddy tracks from the window to the bed and back again can be seen. (Perception / Tracking check to identify non-human, smaller size creatures, about 2 creatures came into the room.)
Taking a look outside the window will show signs that something did come from the direction of the older buildings in the estate. (Tracking/Perception roll) to follow to the well. This well is supposed to 'have dried up a while ago..." and evidence will show that water doesn't appear to be at the bottom. Climbing down will require checks/etc. and at the bottom the PCs will find a smooth, pink strap of silk obviously part of a girls gown/hair dress.

The Story
The two primary bad guys, brothers became enamoured with the evil god XXXX and to grow in power started to conduct sacrifices. A Full Moon is scheduled within a day or so, any as a gift to their dark lord they had planned on killing an innocent to capitalize their previous successes. (DM should perhaps drop a mention of the lunar condition, but not focus on it.) Previous sacrifices should be evident and an awareness of 'a foreshadowing' at the end of the adventure should get the PCs motivated to find out more. Red Desert, coming evil from the past, and perhaps 'those above who shall open the path' are possible words/concepts to get them thinking of.
