Generic Universal Role Playing System (GURPS)

Introduction

When I first saw GURPS I thought its design purpose was to allow for characters to be 'shiftable' between story genres (much like LordsOfCreation.) which was false. One of my issues with GURPS is that guidelines to create a fantasy world, require their Fantasy rulebook, space requires Space, Space Tech, or one of many specific story-world rulebooks. While I understand it makes perfect financial sense, and the primary GURPS rulebook does give a look at SUPERS (I think...)

Horror

Using this rulebook, I created an adventure for the 'college crew' that I wanted to make "connected" to the world. So, I did a lot of research on the Victorian Age, discoveries made, strange events and tried to incorporate places/people and accidents from the time into the game.
I wanted the focus of the game's antagonist a 'Great Old One'-type of creature as in H.P. Lovecraft Cthulhu mythos. I also wanted to give the players a feeling of 'scope' and that they would be travelling, chasing clues, finding artifacts, and in the end, travelling to a remote location to do battle with human and non-human minions of the enemy, preventing it's return after an epic battle.
