obelisk is 11ft tall 2 feet wide, grey-black granite with 4 sides covered in heiroglyphs and apparently drinks liquids.
Text of heiroglyphs is prayers to Ka-Thigu-Ra with astronomical notations that Elise may have seen before.
Elise spots a dead pigeon that is slightly scorched.
Hugh Tylesman was President of the Bannicker Park memorial committee (and received a commendation from the Metropolitan Council) and presumably oversaw the placement of the base and obelisk.
House at that spot has been rebuilt and sold to new owners who never noticed anything weird about the obelisk.
